本器可迅速且精密的將各種織物、編織品、地毯、發泡、薄膜、紙張等等，切割成一個特定面積之圓形樣品，亦稱為「織物取樣器」。
樣品面積若為100cm²，稱重(搭配碼重秤)後將所得的公克數乘以100，即可得出該材料每平方米之公克數。
切割時把材料置於切刀及專用墊板之間，鬆開安全釦後輕壓並旋轉手輪，即可切下邊緣完整的樣品。
