Applications of the Bayer Test include transparent materials and coatings. The new design of the Oscillating Abrasion Tester allows for increased operating stability. The speed range has remained 100-200 cycles per minute but the range of stroke lengths have increased - there is now an adjustable range from 0.25 - 6.0 inches (6.5 - 152.5mm).

The Model 6160 includes: specimen tray with square specimen holder; 4/10 silica abrasive media (50 lb); spirit bubble level; specimen spacers (set of 8); disposable tray cover; specimen removal tool; 6 inch rule; power cords; mounting hardware; and operating instructions.
